5.3.6 Write-protecting a data cartridge
Data cartridges have a write-protection tab. This tab prevents and enables writing to
the data cartridge as shown in Figure 5.7 . An open tab prevents writing. A closed tab
enables writing.

5.3.7 Loading a data cartridge

Open the I/O cover at the front of the main unit.

Check that the Tape LED and Clean LED are both out.
When the Tape LED is lit, a data cartridge is in the drive.

Placing the data cartridge against the shutter, insert it straight into the DAT
drive.
Once the data cartridge is partially inserted, it is automatically drawn into the DAT
drive.

When loading of the tape is complete, the Tape LED lights to indicate that the
DAT drive is ready for accessing.
