Required Disk Space for Previous Version

The space required to install the previous version of the ETERNUS SF Manager.
Refer to "Operating environment of ETERNUS SF Manager" in the

ETERNUS SF Installation and Setup Guide

for the relevant

previous version for information on the required disk space.

Uninstalling incompatible software

Check if any incompatible software for this version of the ETERNUS SF Manager is installed on the server where the upgrade is
performed.
If incompatible software is found, refer to the relevant software manual and uninstall it before starting the upgrade.

information on the incompatible software.

8.

When upgrading from Version 15.3 on the Linux environment, uninstall the FJSVswstt package (SNMP Trap daemon package)
on the primary node.

Execute the following command to check whether the FJSVswstt package is installed.

# rpm -q FJSVswstt

If the FJSVswstt package information is displayed, execute the following command to uninstall the FJSVswstt package.

# rpm -e FJSVswstt

Estimating the database size

A database is necessary for this version of Storage Cruiser.
The database size must be estimated before starting the upgrade.

Confirming the port number for the communication service (for Solaris, Linux)

Therefore, ensure the new ports are available before starting the upgrade.

Perform the kernel parameter tuning on the primary node.

12.

On the secondary node, perform a backup of the operating environment of the previous version of the Storage Cruiser's manager.
