Problem

 Cause 

Remedy 

A balloon does not 

deflate.

Water has entered the channel from the 
balloon air feed inlet of the endoscope or that 
of the Over-tube.

Stop using the endoscope immediately, deflate 

the balloon using a syringe, slowly withdraw 
the endoscope and Over-tube together, and 
then replace the balloon and Over-tube with 
new ones. Clean and dry the balloon air feed 
channel as necessary.

When the balloon does not deflate even with 

a syringe, take appropriate measures at the 
physician’s discretion.
