Sound/Screen/Light Settings
Sent/received/retrieving mail image
Changing displays for incoming/
outgoing messages and retrieving
You can set images to appear when sending mails,
receiving mails (including MessageR/F) or received mails,
or checking new messages.

◆ Setting an image to display on sub-
display <Clock & alert image>
An image is set on the sub-display for incoming calls or
incoming mail. Display of the clock can be set.

Setting display and key light
◆ Setting lighting time <Display light
time>
The lighting time of display can be set. When the light is
ON, the display becomes brighter and key area is lit.

In addition to Normal use, lighting time can be set also
for AC adapter connected (including DC adapter), i-
mode session, Camera session, Movie camera session,
i-motion and i-
α
ppli.
･
This setting is also reflected to i-mode settings, Image
settings, Recording settings, Settings for movie/i-
motion and Display light of i-
α
ppli settings,
respectively.

When "Terminal setting" is set, the light remains
lit for the lighting time set in Normal use.

When "Always on" is set, the light is always lit
with brightness set in Brightness and power
saving mode is not set. However, while an AC
adapter is connected, the light is lit in "Brightness
5" regardless of the settings in Brightness.

When "Software" is set for i-

When "Auto adjust" is set, the brightness of the
display and key lights is automatically adjusted
according to the ambient luminance. In a well-
lighted area, the key lights may not turn on.
