Overseas use
Services available overseas
Available communication services vary by the
telecommunications carrier and the network of the
country you stay.

For information about countries, areas,
telecommunications carriers and other details
applicable to the service, see DoCoMo's "International
service web page".

Call and stand-by durations available may be nearly
halved for some network or other conditions in the
country you stay.

Network and available communication
services

Some services may not be used depending on the
telecommunication carrier or area.

When (red) appears, only sending/receiving of voice call/SMS
and position location of GPS are available.

With 2in1 activated, Number B is not available for making calls.
When using Multi number, calls cannot be made from additional
numbers.
*3 Make and receive international videophone calls to/from parties
using certain overseas 3G telecommunications carriers or those
using FOMA terminals overseas.

Connections from Full Browser and TVlink list to the data
broadcasting site are included. Note that Activate 1Seg is
unavailable overseas.
*5 Automatic update is suspended automatically when you are
connected to an overseas telecommunication carrier. To restart i-
Channel automatic update, you have to set i-Channel again. You
are charged packet communication fee for each reception of i-
Channel (Communications allowance not applicable).
When staying overseas, you are charged communication fee also
for Basic channel automatic update. (In Japan, it is included in a
monthly service fee.)
*6 When connecting to a GPS service usage setting site or viewing a
DoCoMo's map by making positioning overseas, you are
connected to the site but an error screen appears and the service is
not available. A packet communication fee is charged even in such
a case.

64K data communication is unavailable overseas.
■ SMS
Even during international roaming, you can send or
receive SMS to/from parties using FOMA terminals in
Japan or overseas or those using telecommunications
carriers overseas. For countries and overseas
telecommunications carriers available, see DoCoMo's
"International service web page".

When sending SMS to a FOMA terminal, enter its
phone number in the same way as in Japan.

When sending SMS to a party using an overseas
telecommunications carrier except DoCoMo, enter "+"
and "Country code" before the receiver's phone
number. Alternatively, enter "010", "Country code" and
"receiver's mobile phone number" in this order (omit
leading "0", if exists, from the receiver's phone
number).

If SMS sent to a party using an overseas
telecommunication carrier contains characters
incompatible with the receiver's terminal, they may not
be correctly displayed. For details, see "Mobile Phone
User's Guide [International Services]" and/or "Mobile
Phone User's Guide [Network Services]".
◆ Network Services
When subscribing to network services, you can perform
operations such as setting/canceling of them also from
overseas.

Some network services that can be set or canceled may
be unavailable depending on an overseas
telecommunications carrier use.
