4.4.2 The first positioning task
During the first positioning task the SPC11 checks whether
the mass moves in the desired direction. If the mass moves in
the wrong direction, the SPC11 will diagnose incorrectly con-
nected tubing in the system and display error E12 (incorrect
direction of movement). The SPC11 then reacts as follows:
– The valve slide of the proportional directional control
valve will then be brought into the electrical mid-position
(throughflow blocked).
– The ERROR output supplies a 1-signal.
– No new positioning task will be accepted.
In order to quit the error:

Switch the operating voltage off and then on again.
This safety function helps to prevent damage as a result of
incorrectly connected tubing in the system.
If the moveable mass is already in one of the end positions
when the operating voltage is switched on, a positioning task
into this end position will be generated and the mass will be
pressed against the end position. If the drive moves out of
the end position instead of remaining in that end position, the
SPC11 will also diagnose incorrectly connected tubing in the
system and will display an error. The fault may be due to one
of the following causes:
– The compressed air supply is still switched off. the drive
has been moved manually or moved from the end position
by external forces, or it has moved itself (e.g. when fitted
in a vertical position).
– The drive moves briefly out of the end position because
the system has been pressurized too quickly (asymmetri-
cal pressure build-up in the cylinder chambers).
