Diagnosis via the AS-Interface bus

Diagnosis via the AS-Interface bus depends on the slave pro-
file used.

Slave profile

Diagnosis via the AS-Interface bus

LED

Standard slave with
4 bits I/O data

– If a fault occurs on the SPC11, the SPC11 will no

longer participate in the bus communication and
will therefore be regarded as faulty by the master
(AS-Interface communication reset).

– Faults can be reset if the operating voltage is

switched on again.

ASI LED: on
Fault LED: flashes

Slave profile 7.4

– Faults are sent to the master via the periphery

fault *).

– The fault number can be read out via the diagnos-

tic string.

– Faults can be reset with the bit “Quit Error” in the

order byte. If the fault is not eliminated, the SPC11
will enter the fault status again.

*) The SPC11 must be able to recognize that a master is connected which supports slave profile 7.4.

Before a fault is sent to the master via the periphery fault input, at least one command in accord-
ance with slave profile 7.4 must be sent (read ID string, read diagnostic string, read/write para-
meter).

If the operating voltage is switched off, the SPC11 will enter
the reset status (AS-Interface communication reset). The
SPC11 no longer participates in the AS-Interface communica-
tion until the operating voltage is switched on again.
