SPN 3712 – FMI 0 = Aftertreatment SCR Induce-
ment – Most Severe
Like with Primary & Secondary Inducement, the
first step is to clear all other codes except for the
above two. After that is complete, an ‘Operator
Action’ is required:
• Transition the throttle from Low-Idle to
High-Idle
• Power Cycle the machine
This will clear SPN 3712 – FMI 0. The final step is
to run the machine for several minutes, so that the
SPN 3714 – FMI 31 Clears.
ESC - Exhaust System Clean-
ing
Exhaust System Cleaning is an automatic process
initiated by the ECM to reduce particulates and
maintain efficiency of the Aftertreatment system.
Exhaust temperature will increase and the engine
may automatically increase the engine speed dur-
ing this process.
