Operations Manual

Storing the Machine

Machine Storage Preparation

The following procedures are recommended for

conditioning the machine for storage.

•

Run all material completely out of the ma-

chine.

•

Thoroughly clean the complete machine to

remove all asphalt.

•

Park the machine in a shed or well drained

area, preferably on boards to keep the tires

or tracks out of mud or standing water.

•

Perform the periodic maintenance items

listed on the Periodic Maintenance Sched-

ule Chart found in the Maintenance chap-

ter of this manual.

•

Thoroughly grease all bearings and bush-

ings. Grease all adjustment bolts on the

paver and screed.

•

Winterize the radiator with Anti-freeze to

40°F below 0°F.

•

Hang the screed on screed locks and re-

tract all hydraulic cylinders so the cylinder

rods are not exposed.

•

Remove the batteries, feed controllers,

and grade/slope controllers. Store them

in a heated area. Store the batteries on

wood, not concrete.

•

Be sure all panel lids and covers are in

place. Close them tightly to prevent water

entry.

•

Enclose consoles in a protective cover.

Leave the bottom of the wrap open to pre-

vent condensation inside.

•

Remove all books and literature from the

tool boxes and store them inside the office

or with other stored components.

•

Refer to the engine manufacturer’s specifi

cations for protection of the engine.

Release Track Tension

Park the machine on level ground.
Shut off the engine and remove the key from the

ignition.

- Tension Release Valve Cartridge

Loosen the jam nut on the tension release valve

cartridge (1).
Insert a hex wrench into the adjusting screw.
Slowly turn the adjusting screw counter-clockwise

to open the valve and release hydraulic pressure.
Turn the adjusting screw clockwise to close the

valve.
Tighten the jam nut on the tension release valve

cartridge (1).
Repeat for the other track.
The pavers will require the tracks to be re-tensioned

after removal from long term storage. They are au-

tomatically tensioned when the engine is started.

nance chapter of this manual..
