Preparing Virtual Disks to Receive Data
Read this section for all configurations.
Before NetWare can access a virtual disk, you must create a partition
and volume on it.
Create and Mount NWFS Partitions and Volumes on Virtual Disks
NetWare Cluster Service requires NSS (not NWFS) partitions and volumes.
To create NSS partitions and volumes, go to
Create NetWare NSS Partitions on
Virtual Disks
(page 63).
Create NetWare NWFS Partitions on Virtual Disks
1. Before continuing, make sure the virtual disks you created are
completely (100 percent) initialized.
a. Start Navisphere Express.
b. In the Navisphere Express navigation pane under
Manage
,
click
Virtual Disk
.
c. In the
Manage Virtual Disks
screen, if the status of any virtual
disk is
Initializing,
wait until the initialization is complete.
2. At the NetWare server command, type
NWCONFIG
3. From the
Configuration Options
menu, follow the path:
Standard Disk Options > Modify Disk Partitions and Hot Fix
4. From the
Available Disk Drives
list, select the virtual disk you
want to partition.
If a partition table has never been created on the selected drive, a
dialog box appears saying so. In this dialog box, you can press
Enter
to continue because creating the partition as follows also
creates the partition table.
5. In the
Initializing the
Partition Table
dialog box, click
Yes
.
6. From the
Disk Options
menu, select
Create NetWare disk
partitions
.
