CM2ND Programming
• When using a CM2ND, zones xx94, xx95, and xx96 are used by the
CM2ND and CANNOT be assigned to addressable devices.
• The RESET switch generates a supervisory short on zone xx97, and
sends a supervisory open zone xx96 to the CM1N/PCPU.
• The ALARM SILENCE switch generates a supervisory short on
zone xx98 and sends an xx95 supervisory open to the CM1N/
PCPU. Toggle off ALARM SILENCE generates an xx94 (Drill).
• To suppress supervisory open condition messages resulting from the
operation of CM2ND Notification Appliance Circuits (NACs) in an
alarm condition, a "<" character must be placed at the beginning of
each NAC message.
• CM2ND reset, alarm silence, and power supply zone messages
resulting from reset and alarm silence switch operation are
automatically suppressed.
• An FCC PCPU network controller is NOT capable of message
routing to a CM2ND.
• Do NOT route a CM2ND message back to itself or duplicate
messages will appear.
• All xx94, xx95, and xx96 messages must be disabled from a
CM2ND in a START ACTION.
Regenerative Mode
• Supervisory short xx97 must be defined to activate action 9002
(Reset) in order for CM2NDs to operate in the regenerative mode.
• Supervisory short xx98 must be defined to activate action 9004 (Alarm
Silence) in order for CM2NDs to operate in regenerative mode.
IRC-3 Network Mode
Step 1:
a. Design the system to work with traditional or ZAS cards without the
use of xx95 and xx96.
b. For a system using traditional cards in the CM2ND, follow all
subparts of Step 2 and Step 3. For a system using ZAS cards in the
CM2ND, follow Step 2, parts d - g.
Step 2:
a. Make a test program with a CM1N and CM2ND that have matching
addresses.
b. Configure the CM1N test program to have a ZB0-8 in slot P5.
c. Configure the CM2ND test program to have a ZAS-1S in slot P5.
d. Define a device range for xx95 and xx96 as an ion detector with a
default setting. (press enter)
e. Define a device response for xx95 as supvr. open activate action
9004 and make a priority response.
f. Define a device response for xx96 as supvr. open set 000197 and
make a priority response.
