Programming Notes
CCS-1 Programming
When CM2(N) panels are connected to the CCS-1 computer, care must
be taken to ensure that the correct information is entered and loaded.
The data entry method listed in this manual must be used to program
the CM2Ns when connected to the CCS-1.
The method of data storage for the CCS-1 is different from that of the
CM1(N). When using the IRC-3 panels in a single-line network, the
messages and responses are stored in the CM2N memory, while the
actions are stored at the CM1N. When IRC-3 panels are connected to a
CCS-1, actions, messages, and zone responses are stored at the CCS-1.
The information that must be stored in the CM2N panels when used
with the CCS-1 consists of the basic configuration of the panel and the
responses necessary for the default or standalone mode of operation.
When building your IRC-3 database, ensure that all actions are multi-
resident. Messages for each zone are only stored in the CCS-1 and need
not be entered in the IRC-3 database.
The following must be considered in IRC-3 programming:
1. The following Entry Menu items must be completed for the IRC-3
panel and entered into its database:
a.
Enter Field Panels
b. Enter Panel Configurations
c.
Enter RZB Panels
d. Enter Device Zone Types
2. If panel addresses are assigned with the same 2-digit number (this
can only be done if panels reside on a different data line), each data
line must be broken down into single-line networks.
3. Actions, time controls, "AND" statements, and sequences associated
with inputs in each CM2N must be designated as multi-resident.
4. Messages do not need to be entered in the CM2N database.
Messages will reside in the CCS-1 database.
5. Only those responses necessary for standalone operation are entered
in the CM2N database. Activation of remote LEDs (outputs not
contained in the CM2N you are programming) is possible through
regenerative operation and therefore must be programmed in the IRC-
3 database.
6. In order for the compile program to operate correctly, it must see a
CM1(N) with a card installed. To accomplish this, you must assign a
ZB0-8 card in card slot #1.
After completing the IRC-3 program, it must be compiled and loaded
into each CM2(N). After the IRC-3 database is programmed, follow
instructions in the CCS-1 programming manual to program the system.
All system responses and messages will be programmed for all inputs in
the system.
