to each CM2N for selected data communications baud rates is as
follows:
Baud Rate Transfer Time
9600 1 min., 20 secs.
4800 2 min., 40 secs.
2400 5 min., 20 secs.
If additional CM2N panels require a download, repeat the transfer
process for each CM2N.
Caution
If the baud rate is changed on an existing fire alarm system, you MUST
do either one of the following:
1. Download the database to each control panel directly.
OR
2. Download the database starting at the last physical control panel,
and work your way back towards the CM1N.
Note:
The transfer times listed in the table above do not include the
time required for the data to transfer from the IBM PC compatible
computer to the CM1N. This time is dependent on the size of the
database. Regardless of the size of the CM2N transfer files, the times
shown in the table above are fixed.
Method 3
May be used for Initial Download; May be used for Subsequent
Downloads. An alternate method of loading data to the network is
available. The database file may be downloaded to the CM1N/2N via a
direct RS-232 connection from the CM1N/2N to an IBM PC
compatible computer without being in the IRC-3 Data Entry Program.
To do this, you must be in the DOS environment. At the DOS prompt
(C:>), type:
SEND [filename.P01] [filename.D01] > Enter
The name after the SEND command is the filename, with 3-character
file extension, that is to be downloaded. The file extension indicates the
information you are sending (refer to File Names in Chapter 1 of this
manual for more information). Each CM1(N) and CM2N must have a
xxxxxxx.Pxx and a xxxxxxxx.Dxx file loaded into it. A CM2 must only
have a xxxxxxxx.Pxx file loaded into it.
