Output Priorities
An output priority must be assigned each time that an output (relay or
LED) is called by the applications program to be Set or Reset. Careful
selection of these priorities is necessary to ensure that prioritized events
operate as required. If an output does not clearly require prioritizing,
assign all priorities as 00.
Set - A Set condition of an output means that it is turned on with a
priority value.
Reset - A Reset condition of an output means that it is turned OFF with
a priority value. A Reset condition is an active condition of an output.
Restored - If an input is Restored, this means that it was active, the
abnormal condition has cleared, and the input has also cleared.
If an output has Restored, this means that it was either in the active Set
or Reset condition but currently it is OFF and does not have a priority
value assigned to it. Normally, outputs will restore when all active
inputs that have commanded the output Set or Reset have restored
therefore allowing the output to restore.
It is possible to have an output Set or Reset using different priorities if
it has been commanded to change state from more than one supervisory,
alarm, or switch activation. The output, however, only holds one
priority which is always the highest Set or Reset value. Each time an
output is commanded Set or Reset, the priority associated with the
individual output is upgraded to a new higher value, or remains
unchanged if the Set or Reset priority is equal to or lower than the
current value.
Each output that has either Set or Reset contains both a relay counter
and a priority value. The counter, which is kept in RAM, keeps track of
the number of times it has been commanded to Set or Reset and the
priority always keeps track of the current priority value.
