Operation

engine speed range control is available through either the
accelerator pedal or the manual engine speed control dial (A –
B, Figure 46).

With the travel/work mode selector switch in the "WORK MODE"
position, all hydraulic components are activated.

Steering Wheel

The steering wheel allows the precise steering of the excavator.

Accelerator Pedal

The accelerator pedal controls the engine speed for traveling in
the excavator.

The accelerator pedal functions in two ways. If the manual
engine speed control dial is at the lowest setting, the accelerator
pedal controls both engine speed and a hydraulic proportioning
valve that controls the actual travel speed. If the manual engine
speed control dial has been set to a higher rpm, the accelerator
pedal functions only as a hydraulic proportioning valve control,
enabling control of only travel speed and not engine rpm.

Brake Pedal

The brake pedal operates the brake system. When the pedal(1,
Figure 49) is pressed to its maximum position, it will lock into
position. To release the brake pedal from the locked position,
press down on the release pedal(2, Figure 49).
