If software update is executed when "ON" is set for PIN1
code ON/OFF, the PIN code entry screen appears at the time
of automatic reload after completion of software updating.
You cannot make/receive calls and operate communication
functions if the incorrect PIN code is entered.

Making/receiving calls, communications functions and
other functions are disabled during software update. Only
incoming voice calls can be answered while downloading.

For software update, SSL session is established to the
server (our site). Validate SSL certificate from Manage
certificate. Configured as valid by default.

It is recommended that software update be executed when
good signal quality is obtained, three bars of the signal
level icon ( → P42) are displayed and the terminal is not
being moved. If radio wave signals become weaker during
software downloading or downloading has stopped, retry
software update in a place with strong radio wave signals.

A displayed icon of message stored at i-mode Center
disappears after software update.
If Receive option is "ON" and e-mail arrives during software
updating, the screen that notifies an arrival of e-mail in the
i-mode Center may not appear after the software update
being completed.

When updating software, your private information
concerning the FOMA terminal (model, serial number, etc.)
is automatically sent to the server (the server for software
update managed by DOCOMO). DOCOMO does not use the
sent information for purposes except software update.

When software update fails, "Rewrite failed" appears and
all operation becomes unavailable. In that case, please
bring FOMA terminal to DOCOMO-specified repair office.
◆ Receiving software update notification
<Update notification>
You can display (Update notification icon) on the
stand-by display whenever software update is necessary
by setting this function to "Enable" in advance.

- When there is notification from DOCOMO

Starting Software update
You can start software update in two ways : Selecting
(Update notification icon) on the stand-by display or
selecting an item number from menu.
