Troubleshooting
This chapter describes how to troubleshoot the DECserver 90L. Before
you begin you should:
1.
Verify that the unit is properly installed.
2.
Note the fault condition.
3.
Isolate the problem. Use Table 5–1 as a guide to determine the
probable cause and the suggested solution.

The power LED is
not ‘‘on’’
The DECserver 90L
is not rec5V.
Check the AC power
connection and verify that
the AC outlet is working.
Check the power connection
on the DECserver 90L. If the
problem still exists, replace the
power supply.
The self-test LED is
not ‘‘on’’
The unit did not pass
self-test.
Replace the unit.
The network LED is
not ‘‘on’’
It is a network
problem.
Check network connection.
Check if the segment is
properly terminated.
Disconnect unit from network.
Connect T-connector with two
50 ohm terminators. If the
LED turns ‘‘on’’, then it is a
network problem. If the LED
stays ‘‘off’’, then replace the
unit.
