MIL-3000FTX Series of FastPort Print Servers
F-3
Note:
Note the sequence number assigned to the images that is listed when using the DF
console command or enter the flash monitor. The higher number indicates the more
recent upload.
F.1.3 Flash Upload Commands
Access the flash upload command in one of two ways:
•
Make a serial port connection and run the serial monitor
•
For DOS machines, use the telnet monitor or use ACT
The flash upload commands are:
•
Disable Network Upload
Used for security against unauthorized uploads.
•
Enable Network Upload
This is the default state.
•
Restart in Other Bank
The only way to cause the older image to execute when the images
differ. The effect is temporary. A power cycle always runs the newer
image. Use this feature to compare the old version to the new version.
•
Copy This Image to Other Bank
Use this command to make the images identical. This command
updates the alternate bank with the new main bank when the user is
satisfied with the new image. To revert to an old firmware version, use
the
Restart in Other Bank
command. When the old version comes
up, this command will copy the old version over the new.
F.1.4 Troubleshooting Tips
•
The original three LEDs remain blinking. FastPort didn’t recognize the
beginning of the image. Check: baud rate. Verify: cable is correctly
connected. Verify: correct files are loading.
•
The rotating LED pattern begins and then freezes. This means that the
end of the download image is missing.
•
All LEDs flash
Warning:
If all LEDs flash after reprogramming has begun, then there was a hardware failure!
Note:
FastPort remains in these three error states until resetted by a power cycling.
