3. OPERATION

PRINCIPLE
The resolution with which RPM4-E-DWT displays pressure values can be adjusted to be a
function of full scale of the active range or of the current reading. The operator can select
which type of resolution setting is used. The default is resolution relative to active range full
scale.
When resolution is set based on active range full scale, resolution is calculated based on the
span of the range and then rounded to the furthest digit to the right. For example, resolution
of 0.001 % on a range of 1 500 psi is 1 500 X 0.001 % = 0.015 which is rounded down to
0.01 psi.
When resolution is set based on current reading, resolution is calculated based on the current
pressure reading and then rounded to the furthest digit to the right. Resolution displayed is
the calculated value, 10 ppm of active range resolution or 1 ppm of Q-RPT range, whichever
is greater.
Note
Default resolution setting is relative to active range and 0.01%. Resolution
is set automatically by AutoRange (see Section 3.7.5) and by AutoTest
initialization (see Section 3.7.11).
OPERATION
To access the resolution function, press
[SETUP]
,
<2res>
. The display is:
1%Full Scale
2%Reading
The cursor is on the current setting. Select the desired
resolution style. This display is (
<%FS>
or
<%Rdg>
,
depending on the resolution style selection):
Display resltn: Hi
0.0100 %FS < and >
Use the cursor control keys to set the desired level of resolution. Press
[ENT]
to return to the
MAIN RUN screen with the new resolution setting active or
[ESC]
to make no changes.
Note
•
The resolution setting is range specific. A resolution setting made in
one range does NOT affect other ranges.
•
The maximum resolution setting is limited in AutoRange ranges that
are less than 10% of the Q-RPT default full scale.
3.8.3
<3stab> (Stability)
PURPOSE
To view and/or adjust the stability test that is the Ready/Not Ready criterion for the active
Q-RPT and range.
Note
See Section 3.1.2 Pressure Ready/Not Ready.
PRINCIPLE
The RPM4-E-DWT continuously monitors the rate of change of pressure measured by the active
Q-RPT and compares this rate to the active stability limit to make a
Ready/Not Ready
determination (see Section 3.1.2). The stability function allows the stability limit to be adjusted by
the user to increase or decrease the stability required for a
Ready
condition to occur.
