optionally entered at this point. Press the
RUN TEST
button to start the test. Prompts for equipment
physical inspection may be displayed, according to System Settings. Refer to Section 6.1
AutoSequence
Overview
for further details.
If the Checklist includes Checkitems which transmit remote control commands via a TESTER PORT, after
physical inspection prompts the user will be presented with a menu for setting RS232 serial communication
options, similar to the menu of
Figure 75
. Although remote control operation of an external test instrument
is possible with a Checklist, such interface is more typically accomplished with a Tester AutoSequence as
described in Section 6.1.3. As it is possible to simply call a Tester AutoSequence from within a Checklist, it
is normally unnecessary to place tester control commands in a Checklist, except in special circumstances.
Note that the power is not automatically applied to the Test Receptacle when a Checklist is ‘run’. This is to
allow for tasks to be performed which should not be done with the power applied. Iif you wish to have
power applied during Checklists, power must be applied or removed through the use of the TRPN or
GTOL commands (see 6.1.5.7 The M Checkitem). Some entries in a Checklist, such as Electrical Safety or
ECG Simulator, or a Tester Autosequence, will automatically apply power to perform the test.
Following optional prompts, execution of a Checklist begins with display of the first Checkitem of the list.
A highlighted
TASK
provides a work instruction to the user. Depending on the type of Checkitem, various
buttons may appear on the touchscreen. Most Checkitems provide list navigation buttons:
BACK
(go back
one step in the Checklist);
SKIP
(skip this step and display the next step of the Checklist); and
ESCAPE
(abort work in progress and return to the MAIN MENU). The "
P
" (pass/fail) Checkitem is used frequently
in Checklists and a typical example shown below. The various types of Checkitems and their associated
functions are explained in the following section.
