The instructions for use of this equipment consist of general and specific instruc-
tions, both must be carefully read and understood before use.

leaflet contains the specific instructions only.
FOX SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS.
This document contains the necessary information for the correct use of the follow-
ing product/s: mobile connecting device (MCD) for rope courses.
1) FIELD OF APPLICATION.
This product is a Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) against falls from a height; it
complies with Regulation (EU) 2016/425. EN 17109:2020 - Mountaineering
equipment - Individual safety systems (ISS) for rope courses - Category A mobile
connecting device (MCD). Category A MCDs are self-closing devices which are
not automatically self-locking.

A periodic thorough inspection is compul-
sory for this product (general instructions / paragraph 8).
2) NOTIFIED BODIES.
Refer to the explanatory key within the general instructions (paragraph 9 / table
D): M6; N1.
3) NOMENCLATURE

3.1 - Principal materials. Please refer to the explanatory key within the general
instructions (paragraph 2.4): 2; 3; 7.
4) MARKING.
Numbers/letters without explanation: refer to the explanatory key within the gen-
eral instructions (paragraph 5).
4.1 - General
(Fig. 3). Markings: 1; 2; 4; 6; 7; 8; 11; 12; 14; 30) Range of
usable rope diameters; 31) Range of usable wire rope diameters; 32) Pictogram
indicating that the device is equipped with sheaves featuring ball bearings.
4.2 - Traceability
(Fig. 3). Markings: T1; T3; T8; T9.
5) COMPATIBILITY.
This product is a component of an individual safety system (ISS) for rope courses
/ adventure parks compliant with EN 15567-1.
5.1 - Safety line
(Fig.1). This piece of equipment is compatible with a 10÷12 mm
ø safety line. The safety line can be made of rope (EN 1891/EN 892) or wire
rope (normal, rotation-resistant or hammered multistrand steel).
Attention!
Do not
use the equipment on safety lines with specifications different from those indicat-
ed.
Attention!
Connection and transit on the safety line supports is not allowed.
Attention!
Before use, check the compatibility of the equipment with the line set-up
by carrying out the necessary tests (e.g. tension, inclination etc.).
5.2 - Lanyard.
The device can be connected to a EN 17109 lanyard via a lark’s
foot connection, a quick link (EN 12275-Q) or a carabiner equipped with a gate
that can only be opened by a tool.
Attention!
The connection to the device via a
lark’s foot connection is not allowed in the case of a rope lanyard.
6) WARNING.
While in use: the user must always be positioned below the anchor point, paying
particular attention to the start position on the platform. (Fig. 8.3); carefully con-
sider the descent speed (Fig. 8.1) to avoid hitting any obstacles (Fig. 8.2); be es-
pecially mindful of the risk of entrapment (strangulation, trauma to the larynx, etc.);
avoid accidentally getting caught with fingers, hair or anything else inside the
device; the use of gloves is recommended.
Attention!
The device is not intended
to limit, by itself, the deceleration of the fall of the user, as defined in EN 15567-
1. For this requirement, it is essential to consider the whole rope course system.
6.1 - Repairs.
Following a fall of the user, the product cannot be repaired and
must be removed from service. In case of wear, it is possible to replace the top
cover with the appropriated replacement part (see paragraph 10), following the
specific instructions (Fig. 9).
7) INSPECTIONS.
In addition to the checks listed below, please comply with what is indicated in the
general instructions (paragraph 3).
Before each use make sure that: the wear of the sheaves does not exceed 1 mm
(Fig. 8.5).
8) INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE.
This product must be used to connect to a compatible safety line and allows the
user to move along it, as shown (Fig. 6).
8.1 - Installation.
Connect the device to a compatible EN 17109 lanyard and
then connect the lanyard to an EN 12277 harness following the manufacturer’s in-
structions. Finally, install the device on the safety line as shown (Fig. 5).
Attention!
The use of this device is only allowed when the connection is made from a stable
stance or when a collective safety system is in place.
Attention!
Always check
that the gate is closed correctly (Fig. 5.3). If it is necessary to integrate a second
lanyard, any connectors can be positioned in the appropriate notches located on
the top cover (Fig. 7.1).
9) SYMBOLS.
Please refer to the explanatory key within the general instructions
(paragraph 16): F9.
10) REPLACEMENT PARTS/ACCESSORIES.
This product is only compatible with the replacement parts and the specific acces-
sories listed below: Fox Cover* (Ref. No. 6V673); Fox Bag* (Ref. No. 7X673).

The replacement parts/accessories marked with an asterisk (*) do not
constitute PPE by themselves.

Before installing replacement parts/ac-
cessories, read and understand the instructions for use of the equipment on which
they are going to be installed.

Before using the equipment, verify that
replacement parts/accessories have been correctly installed.
