Set System ID or CLLI code
Set System ID or CLLI code
NOTE:
The System Identifier (name, location, or Telcordia CLLI code) is a text string,
such as “Acme Corp. AN#2” or “DNVRCO1A201”. The identifier can be up to 20 characters
long, and may use any combination of letters and numbers. The identifier must be
enclosed in quote marks. The System Identifier also appears in the command line prompt.
The default System Identifier is “Access Navigator” so the command prompt will be
“Access Navigator>”. When you change the identifier, the prompt will also change.
1. Set System ID by entering the following command:
set id <"id">
Example:
set id "DNVRCO1A201"
2. Show and verify current ID setting by entering the following command:
show id
Requirement:
Access Navigator responds with correct System Identifier.
Set IP Address and Subnet Mask
NOTE:
An RS-232 management connection must be used to set up the Ethernet port
for remote management by Telnet, SNMP, Valet™ or NetworkValet™ EMS software.
NOTE:
IP Address – Each Access Navigator on the same Ethernet network must have
a unique static Internet Protocol (IP) address. IP addresses have the format
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
, where each
xxx
is a decimal number between 0 and 255. For
example,
192.168.0.123
is a valid IP address. Note that the address contains only three
periods, one between each of the four numbers. If the Ethernet interface is not used, type
none
for the IP address.
NOTE:
Subnet Mask – The Access Navigator uses a subnet mask to identify the
permissible range of IP addresses on the local network. Large networks are usually
divided into smaller subnetworks, each with an assigned range of IP addresses.
Addresses outside the subnetwork will be sent to the Gateway address. Subnet masks
have the format
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
, where each
xxx
is a decimal number between 0 and
255. Subnet masks usually start with one or more groups of 255. Typical examples include
255.255.0.0
and
255.255.255.0
. If a subnet mask is not used, type
none
or leave
blank.
