When the failure occurs, in the M.P. paper pick-up gear ass'y on the right door assembly, the front portion [a]
of the gear holder assembly is displaced in the direction indicated by [b]. This causes the gear holder [1] and
the gear [2] of the cassette 1 pickup unit to be displaced toward the M.P. paper pick-up gear ass'y [3] (in the
direction of the arrow). Accordingly, play cannot be provided properly between the gear [2] and the gear [4],
resulting in pickup failure and abnormal sound.
The following Figure [A] shows the normal state and Figure [B] shows the state when the symptom occurs.
Service work
Prepare the new type gear holder (FM1-B281-000), and replace the part according to the steps below. The
following Figure [A] shows the old type and Figure [B] shows the new type.
