Separation Reverse Guide

Separation Pad Unit Holder

SERVICING:

The  separation  pad  (FL3-5538)  mentioned  in  the  above  "Factory  measure"  has  been  changed  to  the  latest
type  for  improving  the  paper  separation  capability  more.    However,  since  the  production  of  the  models
applied  to  this  Service  Information  was  discontinued,  the  latest  separation  pads  were  not  equipped  with
those models when they were shipped from the factory.

If the above symptom should occur, prepare the separation pad unit (FM1-A719), the reinforcement plate
(FC9-4978) and 2 pieces of the P screw (XB4-5301-005). Then, follow steps A) & B) below.

A)

Remove the separation pad and the compression spring.  Instead, replace them with the separation pad
unit (FM1A719) which consists of the latest type separation pad and the new type compression spring
[1] as a set.  For the latest type separation pad, the material and shape of the separation sheet have been
changed  and  the  weight  [2]  has  been  added.    The  new  type  compression  spring  has  a  higher  spring
pressure.  (spring  pressure  of  the  old  type:  274.8g,  the  new  type:  344.2g)    In  addition,  the  old  type
compression spring has a metallic color, while the new type is blue.
