A)
The steps for responding to the retransfer residue ghost of a different color
A-1) Change the setting values as described in red in Row "1" of the table below in accordance with the
toner color of which the retransfer residue ghost was confirmed in the step 4), and open and close the
front cover of the main body. This will enable the change of the setting value in Service Mode. As the
retransfer residue ghost of Magenta occurred in case of [a] of the sample [C], change the setting value
for Magenta in Service Mode.

With regard to "Adjusting the Y/M/C Upstream Auxiliary Brush DC bias" described in (*1) of the above
chart, Service Mode USUB-YDC is for adjusting all of Y/M/C at the same time, and USUB-KDC is for
adjusting only Black.
A-2) Check if the ghost image has occurred by outputting a PG49 test print in Full Color Mode.
- If the output has improved, restore the setting values in Service Mode that were changed in the steps
1) to 4), and make 10 copies of the test chart. If the output is normal, the operation is completed.
- If the output has not improved, proceed to step A-3).
A-3) Change the setting values as described in Row "2" of the table above, output a PG49 test print in Full
Color Mode and check if the ghost image has occurred.
- If the output has improved, restore the setting values in Service Mode that were changed in the steps
1) to 4), and make 10 copies of the test chart. If the output is normal, the operation is completed.
- If the output has not improved, proceed to step A-4).
A-4) Change the setting values as described in Row "3" of the table above, output a PG49 test print in Full
Color Mode and check if the ghost image has occurred.
- If the output has improved, restore the setting values in Service Mode that were changed in the steps
1) to 4), and make 10 copies of the test chart. If the output is normal, the operation is completed.
