Data Bits
The default number of data bits is 8. You could choose 7 instead.
Stop Bits
The default number of stop bits is 1. You could choose 2 instead.
Parity
The default parity is None. You could select Even or Odd instead.
Flow Control
The default type of flow control is DTR/CTS (hardware). You could choose
X-ON/X-OFF (software) or Both (DTR/CTS
and
X-ON/X-OFF) instead.

Normally, a PC has a maximum of four physical output ports installed: any
four of COM1 through COM4 and LPT1 through LPT3. The MPSWIN
program creates a number of “phantom ports” (often called “logical ports” or
“virtual ports”) numbered COM1 to COM9. At the MPSWIN port-redirection
screen (shown below), you can assign (“redirect”) these phantom ports to any
physical output port on the Multiport Spooler VIII or any
serial
physical
output port on the PC (except the one to which the MPS-VIII is connected).
Users can direct jobs through these phantom ports to specific peripherals
attached to the PC or the MPS-VIII.
