Appendix E: Editing the UCTP
You can use the included String Editor program to customize the UCTP by
removing command files, modifying them, or creating new ones. You can edit
any UCTP file, whether it is for a Default or Advanced menu.
In the DOS environment, access the Editor by typing EDITOR at the DOS
prompt and pressing Enter. You can specify a file by entering its name after
EDITOR. In the Windows environment, select the Editor icon in the MPSWIN
Applications window.
From within the Editor you can load files (if you have created or copied
any). The Default Menu files are UCTP_4, UCTP_8 and UCTP_12; the
Advanced Menu file is UCTP. (All these files use the .PRO extension.)
Once you’ve loaded a file, the EDITOR screen looks something like this:
Active Line
This field shows either of two values—
Text
or
Command
—depending on
where your cursor is located.
Text
refers to the characters that appear on the UCTP program’s screen.
A text line may be up to 44 characters long.
