A.3 Telephone Cables and Modular Adapters

The modular adapters shown in this section are not preassembled stock items.
You can use the illustrations as blueprints to build your own adapters from
the recommended adapter kits, or you can call Black Box for a quote on
preassembled adapters.

Note that all of the telco cables shown in this section are cross-pinned (our

product codes EL0XM) rather than straight-through pinned (EL0XMS). Also,
the wiring schemes of the modular adapters in

Sections A.3.1

through

A.3.3

are downward-compatible. For example, if you have an adapter pinned for an
8-wire cable, it will perform the functions of the 6-wire adapter with 6-wire
cable or of the 4-wire adapter with 4-wire cable.
