Pyramid 2 Keyboard

Installation and Operating Instructions

QUICK INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS

To install the Pyramid 2 Keyboard, follow the steps below:
1. Make the connections necessary for the keyboard to be connected to the power supply and to the network. See the

section

Connections

below for details.

2. Using the switches on the keyboards network communications card, configure termination and baising as required.

See the section

Configuring the Network Communications Card

on page 65 for details on how to do this.

3. Log on to the keyboard. Instructions on how to do this can be found on page 12.
4. Address the keyboard so that the Pyramid system can distinguish this keyboard from any others that are already

connected to the system. See the section

Addressing a Pyramid 2 Keyboard

on page 60 for details on how to do this.

The keyboard is now ready for use.

CONNECTIONS

The Pyramid 2 Keyboard is linked to the Pyramid system via an RJ45 connection. One end of the RJ45 connection lead

(PY-NIL) is plugged into the keyboard and the other end should be connected to the network access point (PY-NAP)

provided. This will then supply the keyboard with both a power supply and a network connection.

The RJ45 connections to the Pyramid 2 Keyboard are compatible with those of the Pyramid 1 Keyboard. However, if you

are replacing an existing keyboard, it is recommended that the original power supply is replaced with the PSU22 power

supply unit that is included with the Pyramid 2 Keyboard.
