Pyramid 2 Keyboard
VCR CONTROLS
When a VCR is selected, a screen is displayed that contains the icons you would normally find on a VCR. Using these
controls, an operator can use the Pyramid 2 Keyboard to assume direct control of a VCR. This means that the operator will
then have control of the output shown on any monitors that are connected to the VCR.
The VCR controls are split over two screens, with movement between the two screens accomplished using the
Next
and
Back
soft-keys. These two screens are known as the
VCR Control
screens:

There are fourteen soft-keys available over the two screens. Some of these soft-keys are latching, which means if they are
pressed, they remain in an ON state until they are pressed again. See the following table for details:

Instruct the VCR to rewind.
Instruct the VCR to fast forward.
Instruct the VCR to begin reverse playback.
Instruct the VCR to stop (when in play or record modes).

soft-keys can be used (see below).

Instruct the VCR to begin recording.

VCR Control
When a VCR is stopped, press this soft-key to instruct the VCR to enter standard
3 hour recording mode.
When the VCR is paused, press this soft-key to view the frame directly after the one
currently displayed on-screen.
When the VCR is paused, press this soft-key to view the frame directly before the
one currently displayed on-screen.
Increase the time-lapse recording mode, i.e. from 3-hour TL to 12-hour TL. The
function of this soft-key will depend on the make and functionality of the VCR in use.
Decrease the time-lapse recording mode, i.e. from 36-hour TL to 24-hour TL. The
function of this soft-key will depend on the make and functionality of the VCR in use.

The soft-keys on the
VCR Control
screens are designed to be broadly equivalent to the buttons on a VCR. However, with
the variation in VCR models from manufacturer to manufacturer, they may not match any single model exactly. For more
information, refer to the operating manual for the VCR.
