PROGRAMMING PRESETS
Pyramid receivers can store up to 128 preset positions which can be recalled using the Pyramid 2 Keyboard. As well as
being able to recall preset positions with the keyboard, an operator can also program new preset positions.
Two types of preset can be stored on a Pyramid receiver;
Patrol Presets
and
Random Presets
. Although both types can
be recalled using the Recall Preset function, they are different in that patrol presets are added to the patrol list while random
presets are not. This patrol list then manages the Patrol function, a camera tour that moves through the patrol list presets
in numerical order. The Random Tour function can also be operated using the Pyramid 2 Keyboard, and this is a camera
tour that moves through both random and patrol presets in no set order.
Despite the differences between the two types of preset, they are programmed in the same way. To do this:
1. Select a suitable PTZ camera on which the preset is to be stored - see
Selecting a Camera
on page 14.
2. Press the
Utility Menu
screen key.
3. Press the
Receiver Utilities
soft-key.
4. Press the
Prog Preset
soft-key. The
Preset Programming
screen is displayed (See Figure 53).

5. Use the joystick to move the PTZ camera to the required preset position.
6. If the new position is to be a patrol preset, use the number keys to enter the required dwell time in seconds (between 1
and 80 seconds), and press the
Dwell Time
soft-key. This sets the length of time the receiver will stay on this preset
before moving on to the next preset in a patrol. There is no need to specify a dwell time for a random preset, as the dwell
time in a random tour is fixed at 10 seconds.
7. Using the number keys, enter an identity number (from 1-128) for the preset. This is the number that will be used to
recall the preset. It should be noted that the preset memory does not distinguish between the two types of preset. This
means that the system cannot store a patrol preset and a random preset with the same identity number.
8. Depending on which type of preset this is, press either the
Patrol
(8a)
or
Random Tour
(8b)
soft-keys.
9. Repeat steps 5-8 to program as many presets as required.
10. To permanently store the presets that have been programmed, press the
Store Presets
soft-key (the equivalent of 120
Fn). If this is not done, the presets will be lost in the event of a receiver reset or a power cut.
11. To exit the
Preset Programming
screen,
press the
Utility Menu
screen key.

Note
Although Pyramid receivers can store up to 128 preset positions, this may not be possible on all receiver types. On the
Universal Dome Interface product, 110 preset positions can be stored with preset numbers 111-128 reserved for special
purposes. Consult the relevant receiver manual for more details.
