When a puncture or wheel clamping occurs, contact your ave. dealer or the next bicycle work-
shop, to benefit from their tools, spare parts (tubing, casing, valve, rims, spokes, etc.) and
expertise. If you fix the glitch by yourself, adhere to the code of tire mounting and consider the
recommendations of the tire manufacturer, as well as proceed for removal and installation in
accordance with the steps, described above.
Drive unit
The e-drive principle is already described in previous chapters, but some other parts of the
hybrid drive system are to introduce here, such as pedals, cranks, bottom bracket, chain wheel,
chain, sprocket and rear derailleur (see fig. below).
Example: pinion, hub, sprocket, chain, chain wheel, crank, pedals
Pedals and crank set are the basis of the muscle power drive in the hybrid. The number of crank
turns (cadence) by pedaling and the pressure applied on the pedals are detected via sensors at
the bottom bracket and the sensor provides the data to motor control.
The bottom bracket in the drive unit, in addition is coupled with the electric motor via a nose-
spur-gear. The total forces of the muscle drive and the electric drive are combined and result in
a hybrid drive at the chain ring. The drive chain is transmitting the hybrid force via pinion/
sprocket to the hub of the rear wheel. The switching mechanism (gears) helps to control the
