fasten luggage bags, baskets or seats only after expert advice. The models are not
prepared for trailers. Drive carefully with any load, because it affects driver’s functions
considerably, including maneuvering, maintaining balance and braking
Electrical system
The electric drive of the pedelec is only available when you move the pedals and it will
stop immediately, if you use the brakes (EPAC standard). The system voltage of 36V DC
and the lights voltage 6V DC are running well secured and isolated. In the unforeseen
event of a skin contact with uncovered live wires, the DC voltage is noticeable, but
harmless to the human body
The Lithium-Ion battery (type LiPo) is secured against short circuits and over- and under-
voltage operations. The motor is protected against current overload and overheating.
The high-power lithium battery cells are to be treated carefully, because of their
chemical composition (LiNiCoMg) and the high energy density (fire hazard). Under no
circumstances the battery case temperature should rise above 60 degrees Celsius that
means blazing sunlight (as in a closed car in summer), heat lamps or fire should be
avoided. Also high mechanical exposure (high downfall, car accident, housing break,
etc.) or an entry of water, solvents or gasoline could damage the battery and unleash
high energy charges in very short time. In combination with other substances this could
trigger a fire burst
Battery charging should be done with the provided Li-Ion charger only, over power lines
with 220 to 240 volts AC (50 to 60 Hertz). Beware, that you are dealing with higher
power voltage (electric shock, danger to life) and take the same care as you do it with
other electrical equipment in your household
The build-in electric bicycle parts (e. g. microprocessor, digital bus, controller) operate
with switching and digital pulses, which can interfere in the low and high radio
frequency range. Therefore, the Hybrid bike was tested on interference and electro-
magnetic compatibility (EMC) according to the European Standard EN 15194. The
radiation results are far below the limits specified therein, so your bike is fully
compliant. Nevertheless, if e. g. medical-, receiving- or measuring-equipment in use, is
affected by the Pedelec radiation, then try to operate the devices away, shield it or find
out a place where the interference is avoided. Otherwise, turn the electrical system off.
In the case of your Pedelec, press the ‘off’ switch at the battery side
Hazardous areas
If you arrive with your electrical bike at places or in areas, where a risk of explosion is
inherent or indicated (such as fuel, chemicals, gas storage facilities), then definitely
leave these dangerous areas with your bike and keep the battery out. Otherwise your
Pedelec - like other electrical equipment e. g. mobile phone, hairdryer - could cause in a
fire by sparks or electromagnetic pulses
