To name samples in the Plate View:

To name one sample

• Click a well, then type a sample name directly into the field, then press Enter.

or

• Copy and paste a name from another well.

To set the direction for the cursor when you press Enter:
Click

to set the Enter key to move the cursor vertically to the next row.

Click

to set the Enter key to move the cursor horizontally to the next column.

To name multiple

samples

• Click a named well.
• Click-drag multiple wells.
• Right-click and select Fill or Fill Series to populate the selected fields.

Note:

To use Fill Series, type a number as the last character of the named well). You can

also copy and paste sample names.

To name all wells at

one time

• Select all wells.
• Select assays, file name conventions, and results group for the plate.
• Enter name and select sample type (in the Customize Sample Info pane) for the whole

plate.
