When input and output signal cables, refer to the sheet labeled “AutoPatch Epica
Connector Guide” that is shipped with each system. The guide shows you where
to attach each signal cable or wire on the rear of each enclosure. (Multi-enclosure
systems have an enclosure number on the rear of each enclosure.)
Follow the
guide exactly; the system was programmed at the factory to operate only as
indicated on the “AutoPatch Epica Connector Guide.”
Caution:
Due to the size of Epica enclosures, we recommend using lacer bars
or some other type of cable management system to avoid damage (and for
service).
Before connecting all input and output cables, attach only the first two input and
output cables and perform a test switch (see Chapter 7). When the test switch is
successful, attach the rest of the input and output cables.
For information on cabling specific types of connectors, see the
Boards &
Specifications
section of this manual.
Video Connectors
The video BNC connectors are color coded; the white connectors are inputs and
the black connectors are outputs. In addition, the first connector on each board
has a colored band that designates signal type for that board.
Audio Connectors
For information on wiring and cabling specific types of connectors, see the
specific boards in the
Boards & Specifications
section of this manual.
