Attaching External Controllers
The Epica is controlled by attaching an external control device that uses one
of the communication protocols listed below:

Important
: The Ethernet connector is used primarily for linking enclosures
(see page 3-1).
Control Options
The communication protocols listed above are used for these control options:

AMX AutoPatch distribution matrices can be controlled with any NetLinx

AMX AutoPatch Remote Control Panels & SBCs
AMX AutoPatch remote control panels CP-20A, CP-10) and other AMX
AutoPatch control devices (SBC, preset SBC, etc.) usually connect to the X

APControl 3.0
APControl 3.0 software (for control and scheduling) runs on a PC connected to
an Epica via the serial port (DB-9) and is available on the
AMX AutoPatch
Software & Documentation CD
. APControl 3.0 has a setup wizard that discovers
the system’s configuration information.
