Rack Installation
Caution:
To prevent overheating and airflow restriction, we recommend
3 inches (7.6 cm) of clearance around the enclosure openings. Avoid placing
high heat-producing equipment directly above or below the enclosure.
To install an enclosure in a rack (requires a minimum of three people):
Tip:
We recommend securing the rack
firmly
in place before installation.
1. While the enclosure is still on its pallet, cut loose and remove outer straps.
2. Remove tray (contains cables, etc.) from top of cardboard sleeve.
3. Remove the cardboard sleeve.
4. Cut loose and remove inner straps. Carefully remove shrink-wrap and corner
cushions.
5. Use a pallet jack to move the enclosure into position. Select a position in the
rack that is accessible and does not restrict airflow (see page 2-3).
Caution:
Do
not
use board extractor handles or power supply handles to lift the
enclosure or to maneuver it into place.
