The 8360 has t w o unleveled mo des, ALC o and searc h. In ALC o mo de, the
mo dulator driv e can b e controlled from the fron t panel to v ary quiescent RF output
level. In searc h mo de, the instrument micropro cessor momen tarily closes the ALC lo op
to nd the mo dulator driv e setting necessary to mak e the quiescent RF output level
equal to an entered v alue, then op ens the ALC lo op while maintaining that mo dulator
driv e setting. Neither of these mo des is feedbac k leveled.
