1. Designate one sw ept signal generator as the master, the other as
the slav e.
2. Make the connections.
3. T o a v oid sync hronization problems, alwa ys set up the slav e
(frequency and p o w er) b efore setting up the master.
4. Set up the master (frequency , p o w er, and sw eep time).
5. Set the sw eep time on the slav e.
6. Congure the sw ept signal generators for step sw eep, or ramp
sw eep.
7. Select the appropriate triggering sc heme.
8. Activ ate the slav e mo de on the slav e sw ept signal generator.
9. Activ ate the master mo de on the master sw ept signal generator.
By connecting the master's 10 MHz reference standard to the slav e's
10 MHz reference input, the master sw ept signal generator's timebase
supplies the frequency reference for b oth sw ept signal generators.
In step sw eep measuremen ts, if the master sw ept signal generator
is not connected to an external con troller, it m ust automatically
trigger the steps. Set

When a the scalar net w ork analyzer is the step sw eep con troller, set
