Error Messages
Introduction
This section lists the error messages that may b e display ed b y the
fron t panel or transmitted b y the sw ept signal generator o v er the
in terface bus. Eac h error message is accompanied b y an explanation,
and suggestions are pro vided to help solve the problem. Where
applicable, references are given to related c hapters of the user's and
service guides.
A list of the messages display ed on the message line of the sw ept
signal generator are included in separate list b ecause they are
considered status messages rather than error messages.
W ARNING
No operator serviceable parts inside. Refer servicing to qualified
personnel. T o prev ent electrical shock, do not remo v e co v ers.

ABILITY TO SA VE A RECALL REGISTER IS LOCKED OUT :
This message o ccurs when the sa v e/recall registers ha v e b een
disabled b y the sa v e lo c k feature or b y a calibration constan t.
ADDR ERR OR EX CEPTION: This can only b e caused b y an
in ternal pro cessor error. Refer to Chapter 4 for instructions on
con tacting a qualied service tec hnician.
Auto T rac k F ailed! Cal Not Up dated: Occurs when auto track has
b een initiated and for some reason has failed. Refer to Chapter 4 and
follo w the lo cal op erator's c hec k pro cedures.
BUS ERR OR EX CEPTION: This can only b e caused b y an
in ternal pro cessor error. Refer to Chapter 4 for instructions on
con tacting a qualied service tec hnician.
DEF A UL TING LANGUA GE : This error message is display ed in
conjunction with one of the following messages.
In v alid Language set on rear panel switch. The GPIB/Language
switch lo cated on the rear panel has b een set to an in v alid
programming language selection. The programming language is
defaulted to the previous setting. Chec k the rear panel switch.
