SUMMARY
Introduction
This en try is organized as follo ws:

IEEE 488.2 Common
Commands
*CLS
Clear the Status Byte, the Data Questionable Ev en t Register, the
Standard Ev en t Status Register, the Standard Op eration Status
Register, the error queue, the OPC p ending ag, and an y other
registers that are summarized in the Status Byte.
*ESE <num>
*ESE?
Sets and queries the v alue of the Standard Ev en t Status Enable
Register.
*ESR?
Queries the v alue of the Standard Ev en t Status Register. This is a
destructive read.
*IDN?
This returns an iden tifying string to the GPIB. The resp onse is in
the following format: HEWLETT-PACKARD,model,serial number,DD
MMM YY , where the actual mo del n um b er, serial n um b er, and rm w are
revision of the sw ept signal generator queried is passed.
*LRN?
This returns a long string of device sp ecic c haracters that, when
sen t bac k to the sw ept signal generator, restores that instrumen t
state.
*OPC
Op eration complete command. The sw ept signal generator generates
the OPC message in the Standard Ev en t Status Register when all
p ending op erations ha v e nished (suc h as, \sweep" or \selftest").
*OPC?
Op eration complete query . The sw ept signal generator returns an
ASCI I \1" when all p ending op erations ha v e nished.
