turn on p o w er to an instrumen t, it is in the idle state. Y ou can force
the instrumen t to the idle state using :ABORt or *RST. The initiate
and ev en t detection trigger states are essen tially a list of conditions
that m ust b e satised to reac h the adjacen t states. The sequence
op eration state signals the instrumen t hardw are to take some action,
and listens for a signal that the action has b een taken.
