4.1.1.1 Supply Relay Visual Status
The state of the supply disconnect reconnect relay is displayed on the meter LCD. The supply
disconnect reconnect LCD segment will operate if all three of the following enable conditions
are satisfied:
•
The supply disconnect reconnect relay must be installed in the meter.
•
The supply disconnect reconnect relay function enable flag is enabled.
•
The LCD is configured to display the supply disconnect reconnect relay state.
If all enable conditions are met, the LCD segment will remain on when the supply disconnect
reconnect relay is in the connected state and will remain off when the supply disconnect
reconnect relay is in the disconnected state.
If all enable conditions are met, the LCD segment will flash with a 50% duty cycle during periods
when the meter is armed. When the LCD is blinking, the relay is physically in the open state
until the reconnection is activated.
4.2 Supply Disconnection
The SGM3000 Series meters support supply disconnection using various methods. Supply can
be managed locally or remotely via manual commands. A series of automatic disconnection
events can also be configured.
The disconnection will impact all out-going circuits. For example, any auxiliary/control load will
also be disconnected.
The state of the main supply relay will be manually configurable locally using MeterMate. And
remotely via the AMI interface.
The meter will generate an event log entry when the supply is manually disconnected, either
locally via MeterMate or remotely via the AMI interface. The disconnection event is classified as
a critical priority event by default. The meter will send a notification message via the AMI
signal.
The meter will generate an event log entry when the supply is manually reconnected, either
locally via MeterMate or remotely via the AMI interface. The reconnection event is classified as
a critical priority event by default. The meter will send a notification message via the AMI
signal.
Supply Disconnection Reconnection Event Priority
The SGM3000 Series meters with main supply relay will adopt a hierarchical approach to the
implementation of the supply disconnection and reconnection functionality. The supply
disconnect/reconnect functionality will only impact meters that have enabled the various
functional features. The supply disconnect/reconnect functionality will (typically) cause a
change to the state of the supply relay. The hierarchy will be used to define the relay state
behavior when more than one supply disconnect/reconnect control activity occurs at the same
time, with the higher priority event taking precedence.
