APPENDIX C – ACTUATOR REPLACEMENT
C.1 Replacing the High speed (05 or 03 type) Actuator
The following example is for a “fail-last-position” type (03) actuator. The steps are identical for
a “fail-safe” type (05) actuator.
Tools Required:
#2 Philips Head Screwdriver
10mm deep socket or open-end wrench
Parts Required:
(2) #8-32 x 1/4” Philips Drive Fillister Head Screws (Accutrol PN 17-0246)

Actuator, High-speed (Accutrol PN 20-0009 or 20-0011)

Install Actuator:
Slide the actuator over the AccuValve drive shaft as shown below.

Secure Actuator to Shaft and Mounting Plate:
Finger tighten the 10mm nuts on the “U
bolt” and make sure the shaft flat is correctly seated against the flat side of the metal
coupling (see above). Insert the #8 x ¼” Fillister Head Screws into the holes located on the
actuator, align with the PEM inserts on the mounting surface and secure in place using a #2
Phillips Head Screwdriver. Using the 10mm socket, secure the two 10mm nuts on the U-
bolt”. Verify the shaft can be rotated as shown below.
Shaft & Coupling
#8 Phillips Screw (2 places)
Actuator U-bolt with (2) 10mm Nuts
Press and hold clutch
Rotate shaft by
hand using U-bolt
