SECTION 8 - START-UP GUIDELINES
Step 1 Engineering (Submittal Phase)
The AVR6000 room temperature and airflow control system has been designed to meet the
requirements of four different standard applications, therefore it is critical that the devices
selected will meet the design requirements of lab using one of the four standard AVR
applications. During the Engineering design phase, the AVR application that is best-suited to
meet the requirements of the room design shall be determined. The AccuValve sizes shall be
selected to meet the design requirements of the room for all modes of operation (i.e. occupied,
unoccupied). The valve schedules, job-specific wire diagrams, and submittal drawings shall be
created at this phase. Any exceptions or modifications to the design shall be identified and
resolved at this point in the project.
Step 2 Coordination (Before Installation)
Make site visits and meet with installers to ensure they are interpreting the submittal correctly
and understand the installation requirements. This is the best time to identify ideal locations
for installing the AccuValves to optimize system performance and ensure accessibility during
startup.
Step 3 Inspect Wiring & Installation (After Installation)
Inspect installation and wiring of valves, power supplies, sensors etc.. to ensure installation
meets the design documentation. It’s advantageous to identify and correct problems at this
phase rather than wait until startup.
Step 4
Configure the AVR per the Application (Initial Startup – After Wire Checks & Power)
a.
Connect computer with AccuValve Insight to the AVR system
b.
Open the AccuValve Insight Program
c.
Configure the App per design requirements and save
d.
From the Dashboard, select the AVR6000 Configuration Menu
e.
Complete the setpoint configuration tables for the modes that will be used and
include mode descriptions
f.
Configure the ARS or ADS Room Temperature Sensor
g.
For Apps that include a GE/Return Valve, configure GE/Return to match the AVT
GE/Return valve
h.
For Apps 3 and 4, configure Fume Hood / Other Exhaust to match the AVC fume
hood control valve that is connected to the AVR6000
i.
Configure Reheat Valve and Duct Temp Sensor
Step 5
Set up Fume Hoods (After Building Supply & Exhaust Systems are Operating & Stable)
For Apps 3 and 4, configure and startup the AVC6000 fume hood controllers per AVC6000
manual. Since the AVR6000 does not control the fume hoods, its important each fume hood
controller is properly configured and operating prior to moving forward with the AVR startup.
For applications with multiple fume hoods (App 4) which use AccuNet® to sum the total room
fume hood exhaust airflow, verify the AVC6000 that has been configured as the “totalizer” is
wired to the Fume Hood input on the AVR6000 controller. From the Dashboard AVR6000
Configuration Menu Item 4, verify the signal type and scaling matches the signal type and
scaling of the AVC6000 “totalizer” valve that is connected to AVR6000 AI-3.
