APPENDIX A - ARS & ADS Room Temperature Sensors
There are two different Accutrol devices that can be used to obtain the room temperature
measurement with the AVR6000 control system. The most common device used is the ARS
room temperature sensor which is a wall-mount unit that is installed inside of the room which
is being controlled. For applications that do not allow wall-mount devices to be installed inside
of the controlled room, the ADS, which is a duct-mount return air temperature sensor is used.
A brief description of each room temp sensor device is provided in this section. For a detailed
description of each device, reference the Accutrol submittal drawings.
The
ARS Room Temperature Sensor
shall be installed inside of the room that is being
controlled in a location where the temperature and RH is that is not effected by drafts from
door ways, supply diffusers, equipment or direct sunlight. The ARS is provided with 2 mounting
screws for securing to a standard single-gang electrical box on the wall within the room.
