App 2: Supply with DTS Reheat Control and GE/Return
For this example, airflow tracking is configured for “Exhaust tracks Supply”. This App
provides room temperature and airflow control for a room with a single supply
valve, a reheat system that includes a duct temperature sensor and a tracking
GE/Return valve. The AVR6 AccuValve controls the supply airflow volume and
supply air discharge temperature setpoint required to maintain the active control
setpoints. The AVR6 modulates the GE/Return valve as required to track the supply
airflow and maintain the room offset. The room temperature measurement is
provided by the Accutrol ARS1 room temperature sensor which is mounted on a wall
inside of the controlled space.
Control Sequence
Airflow Tracking:
The AVR controls the GE/Return airflow valve as required to track
the supply airflow and maintain the room offset.
Heating:
Supply airflow volume is controlled to maintain the active minimum supply
airflow setpoint. The room temperature sensor and duct temperature sensor for the
reheat coil that is associated with the room supply airflow valve will report the room
and duct temperature to room controller (AVR) where both temperature inputs will
be scaled and compared to the room temperature heating setpoint. The room
controller shall reset the discharge air temperature setpoint while modulating open
the supply air duct reheat control valve as required to maintain the room
temperature heating setpoint.
Cooling:
If space temperature rises above the room temperature cooling setpoint,
the controller shall modulate open the supply airflow valve as required to achieve
the room temperature cooling setpoint. The GE/Return airflow valve shall track the
supply valve to maintain room offset. The heating control loop is set to zero so no
reheat is introduced during cooling.
Deadband:
When the room temperature is between the heating and cooling
setpoints, the room temp heating and cooling control loops are set to zero and the
supply airflow volume is controlled to maintain the active minimum supply airflow
setpoint.
