App 3 Control Logic: Supply with DTS Reheat Control, GE/Return and Fume Hood
For this example, airflow tracking is configured for “Supply tracks Exhaust”. This App
provides room temperature and airflow control for a room with a single supply
valve, a reheat system that includes a duct temperature sensor, a tracking
GE/Return valve and a fume hood or specialized exhaust valve. In this application
the fume hood/specialized exhaust leads the control sequence and the supply tracks
the total exhaust to maintain the room offset. The GE/Return valve is used as
required to satisfy the cooling demand and maintain the room offset while the
supply discharge temperature setpoint is controlled to satisfy the heating demand.
The room temperature measurement is provided by the Accutrol ARS1 room
temperature sensor which is mounted on a wall inside of the controlled space.
Control of the discharge temperature setpoint using the DTS optimizes comfort in
the space while improving energy efficiency. The AVR6 AccuValve can be configured
to operate with multiple user-defined setpoint modes (i.e. occupied, unoccupied,
decontamination, override…) that are activated using BACnet or locally through two
dry contact inputs on the AVR6 controller.
Control Sequence
Airflow Tracking:
The fume hood or specialized exhaust airflow valve is controlled
independently to meet the requirements of the application and the fume hood or
specialized exhaust airflow volume is transmitted to the AVR via analog signal. The
AVR calculates the total room exhaust airflow volume by summing the fume hood or
specialized exhaust with the GE/Return. The supply airflow setpoint is calculated by
summing the total room exhaust with the room offset. The GE/Return setpoint is
driven by the greater of the room temp cooling control loop or the tracking
requirements based on the fume hood or specialized exhaust.
Heating:
The room temperature sensor and duct temperature sensor for the reheat
coil that is associated with the room supply airflow valve will report the room and
duct temperature to room controller (AVR) where both temperature inputs will be
scaled and compared to the room temperature heating setpoint. The room
