Rear Brake
Inspect the level of the
rear brake fluid by
inspecting the level
through the reservoir
housing. If the fluid
level is visibly below
the low minimum “MIN”
indicator (B), brake
fluid must be added.
Clean any dirt or
debris from the cap
opening (A) before
opening the reservoir. Unscrew the cap and add new
DOT 4 brake fluid. Inspect the cap seal ensuring that
it is free of any wear or damage then reinstall the
cap.

Brake Pad Inspection
The brake pads must be inspected when specified in
the maintenance schedule. See Maintenance
Schedule on pages 5-20 through 5-25. Visually
inspect the brakes by looking at the remaining brake
pad material through the sides of the brake caliper.
Replace the brake pads if either pad’s thickness is
1.35 mm (0.05 in) or less. If the brake pads (A) are
worn, replace both brake pads immediately.
The brake rotor should be checked for thickness. The
minimum thickness is 3.85 mm (0.15 in).
