An error will occur if the GS200RAM disk does not contain a system file.
4.
When the GS200 finishes updating its firmware, it restarts.
Note
• It takes some time to copy the system file to the volatile disk (GS200RAM). Carry out the
procedure below to check that the file copy operation is complete before you update the
firmware.
Double-click the Safely Remove Hardware icon in the notification area on the Windows
desktop.
In the window that opens, click
USB Mass Storage Device
, and then click
Stop
. In the Stop
a Hardware device dialog box that opens, confirm the information, and click
OK
. If the copy
operation has been completed, the “Safe to Remove Hardware” message will appear.
• After you press the Update Sys soft key, do not turn the GS200 off until the system file has
been completely overwritten. Doing so may damage the instrument.
• When you update the system firmware, all the data files stored on the GS200RAM are
cleared. Move any data files that you want to keep to a PC before you update the system
firmware.
